Can I take a rented car to another country?
Unfortunately No. You should stay in Greece for the entire period of your rental.
How can I extend or modify a rental?
Currently, extension or modification of a rental through Ridemind, is not supported.
Please be mindful to the fact that penalty fees apply in the event of delayed return of a car to its owner.
How can I report existing damages at the beginning of the rental?
If you notice existing damages at the beginning of the rental, you need to indicate it on the rental agreement during the pick up of the car, and take photographs of the damages which you must upload through the app while filling the contract.
What should I do if I'm late to return the car ?
In case of late return of the car, you have to warn the owner as soon as possible. You will also be charged with penalty fees.
What should I do if I can't reach the owner?
Try to reach the owner through Ridemind’s messages.
If you still do not manage to reach him, contact Ridemind.
What should I do if a car accident occurs?
If the accident involves an identified third-party:
Call Mondial Assistance
Call the police (100) and an ambulance (166) if needed
Take photos of the damages, on your car and on the third-party onevehicle
Call the owner to inform him

What should I do if the car is stolen during the rental?
If the car is stolen during your rental, you need to immediately call the police (100) and warn inform the owner and Ridemind's customer support. A complaint will be filed to the police and Ridemind will organise your returning to your base.
How do I rent a car on Ridemind?
In order to rent a car on Ridemind, you will have to:
- Sign up for free and fill out your profile with details so that owners feel secure when you contact them
- On the homepage, enter the address where you would like to rent a car, as well as the start and end time
- Compare the cars found and send a request for the one that matches your needs. When an owner accepts your request, you need to pay online to confirm the rental
- Meet the owner at the time you agreed on to pick up the vehicle. The owner will bring the keys, the registration paper and the insurance contract
- You must bring your driver's licence, which will be inspected by the owner
- After the rental, review the owner and the vehicle on the app of Ridemind
How can I be sure that the car will be in good condition?
Although Ridemind does not directly examine each vehicle’s condition, it contractually binds the owners who make cars available to rent, ensure that the cars are roadworthy and fulfil all the safety and security requirements required by Law. In addition and given that, our user's safety is our priority, the car is reviewed by the driver, upon each rental. Cars reported as dangerous are immediately removed from the website. Owners that fail their contractual safety and security requirements face significant liabilities.
Finally, if you do encounter a breakdown, all vehicles are covered by Mondial’s 24/7 roadside assistance: it will take care of the vehicle in question and its passengers.
Can I rent a car suitable for persons with reduced mobility on Ridemind?
Yes you can, some owners rent vehicle that are adapted for the transportation or driving for persons with reduced mobility on Ridemind.
How does a rental go?
Once the rental is confirmed and paid, here are the different steps :
- Arrive at the meeting point on time
- Present all the required documents to the owner before he asks for them: your original driving license (no copy)
- Fill the rental agreement through the app and take at least 6 photos of the car (mileage, front, rear, right side, left side and VIN number)
- If you want to smoke or transport animals in the car, make sure you have the owner’s permission - otherwise, fees will be applied
- Do not forget to fill the tank before returning it to the owner to give it back with the same level of gas than at the beginning of the rental
- Return the vehicle as clean as you received it.
- Fill the electronic rental agreement through the app again when you return the car
- Review the rental to share your experience and help future drivers picking a vehicle on Ridemind
Do I have to fill the gas tank?
Rental prices on the website are exclusive of fuel costs. You must therefore return your vehicle with the full gas tank, exactly as you received the car.
INSURANCE AND SAFETY
How does Ridemind’s insurance work?
Ridemind has taken out a special insurance policy with Allianz, designed for peer-to-peer car rental.
For each rental arranged on Ridemind, this insurance policy replaces the owner’s regular insurance, meaning that Ridemind’s insurance will come into play in the case of theft or damage.
Insurance fees are included in the rental price displayed on the website. It is automatically applied to each rental, so no extra steps need to be taken by the owner or the driver.
This insurance is accompanied by a 24/7 roadside assistance provided by Mondial Assistance, which takes care of the vehicle and its passengers should an accident, breakdown or theft occur.
How do I enter my driving license info properly?
You will have to enter your driving license number and the date that was issued. Also, you will have to enter the number of your National ID card or passport. You will also have to upload photos of your driving license number and National ID Card/Passport. This info is not visible to other users and remains secure in our server.
What happens if I get a ticket?
Breaking traffic regulations can be very serious and can cost you a lot of money!
For all the traffic tickets of violations that occurred during the rental, you will be fully responsible for paying the fines and you will be the one to lose license points, if applicable.
If the owner receives a ticket that occurred during the rental, he will contest it and nominate you instead. The fine will therefore be sent to you at your address.
PAYMENT AND FEES
How does the security deposit work?
When you rent on Ridemind, a security deposit of 500euro will be pre authorized.
The security deposit consists in blocking a defined amount of money of your bank account, in order to cover eventual additional costs or damages occurring during the rental.
The amount of the security deposit is detailed during the rental payment, and will be released automatically at the end of the rental if everything went well.
Note that the security deposit can appear on your bank statement, even if it wasn't debited. It also affects your card's payment limits. If the rental is refused by the bank even though you have enough money on your account to cover the full amount (deposit + rental fee), it may be because you have exceeded your payment limit. If this is the case, you will simply have to contact your bank to increase your limit to proceed to the payment.
What will I pay if I damage the owner’s car?
In case of damages during the rental, repairs will be covered by Ridemind's insurance. If you are responsible for the incident, or if no guilty party is identified (e.g. if the car is damaged in a car parking), Allianz’s insurance will cover the repairs, but you will have to pay the deductible.
Which payment methods are accepted?
You must pay for the rental using a credit card in your own name. Only payments made with a VISA or MASTERCARD are accepted.
All transactions are protected by 3-D Secure technology.
Cheques, cash, single-use credit cards, prepaid credit cards, Maestro, Diners or American Express are not accepted.
What is payment via 3Dsecure?
The first time you pay for a rental on Ridemind, your bank will ask you to confirm the payment, in a way that is specific to online transactions and can differ from one bank to another (verification code sent by SMS, answer a secret question etc.).
This step must be completed before you can pay for the rental, and takes place on the payment page itself. It enables us to ensure that the credit card, is being used by its rightful owner.
If your bank proceeds to this verification by sending a code by SMS, make sure your bank sends the verification text on the right phone number. If you face displaying issues with the 3DSecure window or your payment fails because of 3Dsecure, please contact your bank to get assistance.
Can I pay the owner directly instead of paying via Ridemind?
No. You must book and pay for your rental using the website or the application, as it is this process that activates our insurance policy’s coverage of your rental.
No booking is activated unless you pay through our website or application.
How and when will I be refunded after a cancellation?
When a rental is cancelled on Ridemind, you are refunded by bank transfer on the credit card you used for the payment, within 5 days after cancellation, according to our cancellation policy.
What conditions must I fulfil in order to rent a car with Ridemind?
To rent on Ridemind, you must:
- Hold a driving licence that is valid in the EU.
- Be over 23 years old and hold your driving license for more than 2 years.
- Pay for the rental with a means of payment in your own name.
Also, don’t forget:
- You have to remain within the boundaries of Greece.
- You shall not use the vehicle for commercial passenger transportation.
- You must remain the main driver of the car during the rental, which means you cannot rent a car on behalf of someone else.
- You can’t rent a car with a theft or loss statement for your driving license
If you don't meet the rental conditions, you will not be covered by Ridemind insurance. The owner will check the documents at the beginning of the rental and has the right refuse to rent if you don't fulfil the conditions.
Can the rented car be driven by multiple or secondary drivers?
Unfortunately, this feature is currently unavailable.
